An Italian contemporary artist
Inserted by Francesca Patrizi
Hello, students!
Today I want to share art, specifically an installation which won the Bulgari Prize 2020 at Maxxi Museum in Rome last April: are you ready to discover an Italian contemporary artist?
Tomaso De Luca, helped by Luigi Ciccaglione and Primo De Santis, has taken part in the Bulgari Prize with his work A week’s notice: an observation through miniatures, video and music on how chaos can bring beauty and an invitation to watch over our lives to find new balances.
I found this work very modern, even if he took his inspiration from a specific period back in the ‘80s, very poetic (you could spend hours watching the house floating in the sky and feeling blown away in the same way) and inspirational for the many questions you ask yourself while watching.
Here you can find an example of the poetry it inspires and here Tomaso talks about his work.
Enjoy!
