Courses to prepare for the Citizenship language exam

For those who do not have the urgency to take the exam to apply for Italian Citizenship, Lit School offers the usual annual group courses for all levels. The cost of the course is 10€/hour, a low-cost solution for everyone. The scheduled timings are:

  • One and a half hour meeting per week.
  • From September to June

  • At the B2 level, students develop the ability to compare opinions, argue, write book or film reviews, and express their opinions on a given topic.

How the B1 exam for Citizenship take place? 

Usually, the CILS B1-Citizenship exam is structured in four steps:

  • a listening part: the participant demonstrates the ability to understand the overall meaning and main information present in oral texts of everyday and general content. (Duration: 30 minutes)
  • a reading comprehension and grammatical reflection part: the candidate is able to understand the overall meaning and main information present in written texts of everyday and general content. (Duration: 40 minutes).
  • a written part: (Duration: 40 minutes)
  • an oral interview: the participant demonstrates the ability to use spoken Italian appropriately on everyday and familiar topics. (Duration: 15 minutes)

 

In how many months is it possible to take the Citizenship exam?

The dates of the CILS exams are set by the University of Siena. In general, exams for CILS B1 Citizenship are almost always held in February, April, June, October and December. Keep in mind that registration must be done AT LEAST 30 days in advance of the exam date you are interested in.

Can you repeat the exam?

The exams to obtain Citizenship do not have capitalization. This means that if you do not pass the exam, you must retake the tests all over again and pay the registration fee for each attempt.
